Privacy Policy

The short version

There are no accounts, no logins, no newsletter, and no advertising. Google Analytics cookies are optional. You can turn them off in Cookie preferences. Nothing you do here is sold, rented, or shared with data brokers.

What is collected

Self-hosted usage measurement. The site counts visits using analytics we run ourselves. It records the page viewed, the referring page, the browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your network connection. It sets no cookie, assigns no persistent identifier, and cannot build a profile of you across other websites. The results are aggregate counts used to understand which parts of the network are useful and to keep the sites working well.

Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits. For visitors in the United States, it is on by default. Elsewhere, it stays off unless you accept. It receives the pages viewed, browser and device details, and an approximate location. Advertising features are disabled. Search terms, form entries, URL query parameters and fragments are not sent to Google. See Google's privacy policy.

Outbound links. When you follow a link from this site to anywhere else, that click is counted along with the page you left from, so we know which case archive links send readers onward. It records where the link went, not who followed it.

Server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare's network. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request information, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and to protect the site from abuse and attack. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.

What you send us. If you report an issue or share published work, the form sends what you enter, along with the page URL, to a private Discord channel for review. Name and reply email are optional. Contact details are not published. Please leave out sensitive personal information.

Third-party services

Support link. The footer links to Ko-fi for anyone who wants to support the archives. That is an outside service. If you go there, Ko-fi's policy governs, and no payment is ever processed on this site.

Fonts. Typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which receives the request that loads them.

The archives themselves. Each archive runs on its own domain with its own privacy policy. Where an archive embeds courtroom video, that video plays through YouTube's privacy-enhanced player and Google's policy applies once you press play.

Cookie preferences

Your choice applies across the Court Daemon network and is saved in your browser for six months. Change it at any time in Cookie preferences. Choosing Reject stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies on each site when you visit it or have it open. It does not delete information already sent to Google. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, Google Analytics stays off. A cookie stores your country and browser privacy setting for 30 minutes to apply these settings.

Children

The network is a public-record reference and is not directed to children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it.
